For passengers feeling drawn to the beauty and stillness of national parks, this walk around “Parc National du Fjord-du-Saguenay” is what you are looking for! From the dock located in “La Baie”, visitors have the opportunity to access the national park interpretation center within an hour-long drive, which includes two interactive and educative stops. The former stop is at a historic monument located in La Baie, while the latter is on craftsmen street. Following the arrival at the national park, the group and yourself will join your tour-guide for a walk. The latter is divided into three parts, allowing each individual to choose how long he/she wants to hike for. The options are the following lengths of time: half-hour, one hour or one hour and a half. Walking takes place along four different paths, which are “Des Méandres”, “Des Falaises”, “De la Rivière” and “Notre-Dame”. Through out the walk you will discover how our majestic fjord has been created, as well as its many characteristics. Our guides, who will accompany the group during the whole duration of the journey will explain how the fjord was formed, starting with ages of alternating periods of freeze and thaw. Other aspects of the area’s wildlife will be demystified, such as the fjord and Saint-Laurent river’s water, belugas, and so on. Once the walk over, some free time will be available at the interpretation center to allow you to either visit the small, yet informative museum, or the gift shop.
One faith on the spot, three walking options are offered with your guide.
A half hour walk one hour and a half of free time at the park
Path - Des Méandres
One hour wal one hour of free time at the park
Path - Des Méandres + De la Rivière

(Challenge for advanced hikers)
For avid hikers seeking a challenge, a surprising fourth option will be offered on site. Following your guide’s instructions, you will be directed on “Notre-Dame” path where you will begin your journey towards “Soupir” viewpoint. This hike takes approximately 1h45 round-trip, and it is recommended for advanced level trekkers because it includes an ascending elevation of 450 feet within 500 steps to climb.
